Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that is still used today in Asia. Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through the skin at very specific points on the body. Acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain in the United States but increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.

Traditional Chinese medicine explains that health is the result of a balance of  "yin" and "yang" of the life force known as "qi," pronounced "chi." Illness is said to be the consequence of an imbalance of the forces.

Qi is said to flow through meridians, or pathways, in the body body. These meridians or pathway of energy flows are accessible through over 350 acupuncture points in the body. Inserting needles into these points with the proper combinations it is said to bring the body back into balance.
